Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Level 1
About the role
Level One shipping/receiving clerks will be expected to work under direct supervision and complete basic shipping and receiving tasks. These tasks include loading and unloading trucks, verifying packaging slips and order content, and performing visual inspection. Additionally, shipping/receiving clerks may be responsible for packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods. Clerks must be able to perform basic packaging skills such as part protection, verifying packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc. Clerks must be certified to operate a forklift in order to move materials. They will also be expected to demonstrate basic computer and clerical skills for recordkeeping. This is an entry level position that typically requires 0-1 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Verifying packaging slips and order content
- Performing visual inspection
- Packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods
- Performing basic packaging skills such as part protection, verifying packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc.
- Moving materials using a forklift
- Demonstrating basic computer and clerical skills for recordkeeping
