Summary

Perform the unpacking and sorting on received shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive shipments from Couriers and being responsible for quantity received.
  • Accurately and neatly unpacking deliveries
  • Sorting, segregating and grouping the samples by product family, product type.
  • Maintaining samples and accompanying paperwork in the correct order.
  • Monitor incoming shipments for special instructions
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies on incoming shipments
  • Management of sample retention and inventory areas
  • Become familiar and comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Observe safety rules and precautions

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Internships and research experience will be considered.
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to do some basic algebra, calculus, and trigonometry.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee will be required to stand for extended periods of time; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The duties are at times performed in a climate controlled environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/low.
