Shipping and Inventory Specialist
Position Summary
The Shipping & Inventory Specialist supports shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations activities. This flexible role shifts between shipping and inventory responsibilities based on operational priorities and business needs. The position helps ensure on-time shipments, accurate inventory records, efficient warehouse operations, and timely material availability for customers and manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions
- Pack and process customer orders for shipment.
- Prepare domestic and international shipping documentation.
- Cook up and track shipments through parcel and freight carriers.
- Coordinate shipments with parcel and freight carriers.
- Track and trace shipments and resolve delivery issues.
- Receive inbound materials and verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Process ERP receipts and shipping transactions accurately.
- Stock received materials in designated inventory locations.
- Investigate and communicate shipping and receiving discrepancies.
- Pick and transact production materials.
- Support material movement throughout warehouse and manufacturing areas.
- Process inventory transfers, adjustments, red tag requests, and other inventory transactions accurately within the ERP system.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Reconcile physical inventory to ERP records and implement corrective actions for identified discrepancies.
- Support supplier return (RMA) shipments and related documentation.
- Aid in Kanban replenishment activities.
- Help maintain shortage lists and material tracking activities.
- Support purchasing and supply chain teams with inventory-related activities.

- Monitor material shortages and assist with supplier follow-up to support on-time production and customer shipments.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational activities and business objectives.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory transactions.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with domestic and international shipping is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $22.50-$30.50 an hour.
