Shipping Agent

About the role

Are you a dependable, detail-oriented team member who takes pride in making sure customer orders leave the warehouse accurately and on time? Jendco Safety Supply is looking for a Shipping Agent to support the final stages of our order fulfillment process by processing outbound shipments, preparing shipping documentation, and coordinating shipments through multiple carriers. This role is responsible for processing UPS and FedEx shipments, creating Bills of Lading (BOLs) for LTL freight, verifying shipment information, preparing required documentation, and ensuring completed orders are ready for carrier pickup. The Shipping Agent works closely with warehouse team members and other departments to resolve shipping issues and keep orders moving efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with shipping systems and documentation, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment. They communicate well, work effectively with different personalities, and consistently focus on accuracy, teamwork, and excellent customer service

Responsibilities

• Small-Package Shipping: Process outbound shipments accurately and efficiently through UPS, FedEx, and other small-package carriers.
• LTL Shipping: Prepare and process LTL freight shipments, including creating accurate Bills of Lading (BOLs) and required shipping documentation.
• Shipment Verification: Verify customer, carrier, service level, package, pallet, and shipping information before shipments are finalized.
• Shipping Documentation: Prepare, review, and maintain shipping labels, BOLs, packing documentation, and other required shipment records.
• Carrier Coordination: Help coordinate carrier pickups and ensure completed shipments are properly staged and ready for pickup.
• Order Accuracy: Review orders prior to shipment to help ensure products and quantities align with shipping documentation.
• Issue Resolution: Identify shipping discrepancies or documentation issues and work with the appropriate team members to resolve them before shipment.
• System Processing: Accurately process shipment information and update applicable systems to maintain accurate order and shipping records.
• Customer Requirements: Follow customer-specific shipping instructions and requirements to help ensure orders are shipped correctly.
• Warehouse Support: Assist with other warehouse functions and operational priorities as needed.
• Work Area Standards: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and work area.
• Training Support: Help train new team members on shipping processes, systems, and expectations when needed.
• Safety and Accuracy: Perform all work safely, accurately, and in accordance with company procedures.
