About the role
The Shipper/Receiver / Shipper/Receiver II position at Grifols is part of an international team dedicated to improving healthcare worldwide. This role involves receiving, storing, and shipping raw materials, products, equipment, and samples, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Unload inbound freight, verify counts, and inspect goods received.
- Sort and label raw materials according to procedures.
- Prepare receiving records and deliver non-inventory items to departments.
- Select, pick, label, and deliver off-tested inventory items to manufacturing.
- Pack and prepare outbound freight, including marking and strapping cases and paperwork preparation.
- Load outbound freight, obtain carrier signatures, and set up special pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain finished goods in designated areas, verifying counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Apply stickers to US-labeled product for export and pack frozen export paste shipments in a +5 degree cold room.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, documenting cGMP housekeeping logs.
- Safely operate fork trucks and shuttle trucks.
- Use SAP and SAP Console for inventory functions.
Additional responsibilities
- Familiarity with plant hazardous materials procedures.
- Maintain forklift batteries and move serviceable and unserviceable pallets.
- Handle return goods and segregate product awaiting quality review or return to stock.
- Ensure accuracy of outbound freight and set up special pick-ups and deliveries.
- Manage storage, withdrawal, and delivery of hazardous raw materials throughout the facility.
Knowledge, skills & abilities
- Pass a Security Threat Analysis by TSA.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work overtime.
- Basic math functions.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
Education & Experience requirements
- Shipper Receiver: High school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of regulated industry experience, or associate’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Senior Shipper Receiver: High school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of regulated industry experience or 3 years of non-regulated industry experience.
Work Environment
- Warehouse environment.
- Exposure to chemicals, electrical equipment, and moving machinery.
- High levels of noise.
- Occasional entry into confined spaces.
- Works at heights and uses scaffolding and ladders.
- Operates forklifts, tractors, and power equipment.
- Personal protective equipment required.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying of up to 44 lbs., heavy lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Exposure to cold temperatures in the +5 degree cold room.
- Hearing acuity essential.
- Depth perception and far vision correctable to 20/30 and 20/100 in one eye.
- Able to communicate effectively and perform simple, repetitive tasks.
