About the role
Prepares and receives shipments, including all required documentation for compliance to US DOT regulations and international shipments. Performs all job assignments in a safe manner according to Airgas SOPs.
- Verifying results from lab and provide certifications
- Determining shipping methods
- International shipments (IMDG, IATA and Airgas Export Compliances)
- Match work orders to the appropriate delivery ticket generated
- Maintaining Shipping Supplies
- Create deliveries that don't automatically create in SAP
- Create Bills Of Lading using AFS site
- Receive STO's
- Scraping, labeling and painting of cylinders
- Moving of cylinders by usage of a cylinder cart and/or forklift
- Load and unloading of trucks
- Match up receiving returns with common carrier paperwork
- Make sure all documentation matches cylinders
- Make sure cylinders go out in a neat and presentable condition
- Cylinder sorting
- Basic knowledge of CFR 49
- Keep a clean and orderly work area
- Understanding Special permits
- Basic computer operations for data entry and training
- Utilizing basic calculations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Ability to coordinate efforts with multiple departments
- Aptitude for high precision work
- Ability to be Certified to do all paperwork for Domestic, IMDG and IATA
- Ability to achieve HM 126 qualification
- Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certifications
- Ability to Follow Directions, Make Decisions, Work in a team, and be Reliable
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum 1 year experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or equivalent software
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions
