Shipper/Receiver (Material Handler)

Responsibilities

• Accept and log incoming parts and materials.
• Pack and ship outgoing hot runners, controllers, and components.
• Forward packing slips to the accounting department.
• Check for obvious damage and verify the quantity and general specifications of incoming material.
• Verify parts to packing slip and book parts in the computer system.
• Ensure materials and parts are properly identified and stored in accordance with good housekeeping, materials handling, and inventory practices.
• Skid/crate parts for return to suppliers or customers.
• Request and maintain adequate stock levels for operating supplies and miscellaneous items.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date operating records, files, and visibility lists.
• Produce exception reports depicting potential shortages to the assembly line.
• Carry out job marshaling activities; ensure materials assigned to specific jobs are properly identified, counted, and placed in designated racks.
• Ensure Bills of Material are updated to reflect current marshalling positions.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of shipping/receiving and stockroom operations.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklift trucks, and other lifting devices.
• Experience with computer inventory systems preferred.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.
• Experience with construction tools (e.g., table saw, nail gun, chop saw) strongly preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure strongly preferred.
