About the role
The Shipping and Receiving Associate role is an entry-level position within MilliporeSigma. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the company's mission of enriching people's lives through innovative science and technology.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic shipping and receiving duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Quality and EHS Specifications and GMP standards.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as hand trucks and forklifts, to move products efficiently throughout the facility.
- Accurately enter and verify transactions to ensure proper tracking and handling of all materials.
- Scan, label, and count materials.
- Verify accuracy of orders and complete transactions and documentation per GMP standards.
- Ensure a clean and orderly workspace.
- Proactively identify safety, quality, and productivity concerns and report them.
- Participate in sustainability initiatives and support shift changeovers through effective communication.
- Escalate issues to appropriate team members as needed.
Requirements
- Exposure to machinery and equipment in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to chemicals and other hazardous materials.
- 100% standing for duration of shift, up to 12 hours.
- Frequent lifting of 20 - 30 lbs. necessary/Max lifting – 40 to 50 lbs.
- Bend and twist as needed.
- Grasp, manipulate and handle objects consistently and regularly, Fine motor skills are required.
- Work in a clean room environment.
- Pass a DOT Physical.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of work experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of EHS, ISO, cGMP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Reliable and self-motivated.
- Read, follow and understand operating procedures and documentation.
- Chemical handling experience.
- Experience with multitasking operations.

Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
Schedule
This role offers a weekend shift with a 10% differential, working hours of Monday and Friday 6am-2pm, and Saturday and Sunday 6am-6pm. Up to 3-6 months training on 1st shift.
