Essential Position Responsibilities
- Stores and retrieves goods in the storage area.
- Rotates stock to use oldest materials first.
- Notes and reports damaged packaging.
- Records items added or removed from inventory.
- Prepares products for shipment by retrieving and loading them.
- Uses an industrial forklift and handheld scan gun/RFGEN for lot tracking.
- Maintains inventory accuracy by following department, facility, company, and regulatory guidelines.
- Performs minor equipment service and completes daily safety inspections.
- Identifies and reports equipment issues to supervisor.
- Changes batteries, refuels forklift, and troubleshoots repairs as needed.
- Maintains work area, dock, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Advises on storage design improvements.
- Creates product labels for inventory purposes.
- Reads and understands lot numbers, expiration dates, ingredient lists, and production schedules.
- Completes daily reports and enters information into computer program.
- Uses basic tools like wrenches, tape measures, scales, and hoses.
- Consolidates partial pallets as directed by production supervisor.
- Moves forklift in tight spaces while maintaining a safe work zone.
- Participates in team meetings and fosters cohesion among team members.
- Supports team in implementing best practices and resolving issues.
- Familiarizes with Simmons' operating systems and responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives.
Physical Activities
- Must be able to climb on and off of the forklift.
- Must be able to back fork-lift up safely, requiring turning neck and body in the opposite direction.
- Must be able to lift and stack up to 75 lbs from floor to crown.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold), wet, dry, dusty environments.
- Must be able to sit and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds multiple times daily.
- Must be able to work in temperature extremes.

- Any other PPE as required in the appropriate area.
Technical Experience
- Knowledge of Julian calendar and FIFO practices.
- Preferred experience in shipping and receiving.
- Working with large moving equipment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Knowledge of military time, RFGEN, and JDE.
Industry Experience
- Shipping and receiving knowledge preferred.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Perform basic math.
