Location: Onsite — Pataskala, OH
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

About the role

Responsible for operating propane and electric forklift vehicles (“hi-lo”) to transport material throughout the warehouse and production areas. The Forklift Operator also assists in the loading and unloading of product onto semi-trucks.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and instructions while operating hi-lo
• Perform start-of-shift preventative maintenance inspection on hi-lo
• Operate hi-lo throughout warehouse and production area to move raw and finished product to designated areas
• Use utility knife to assist in unpackaging of raw materials and product
• Lift heavy product (50+ lbs.) multiple times per shift; perform and assist in team lifts when product exceeds 50 lbs.
• Perform visual inspections of material prior to loading into semi-trucks and box trucks
• Check shipping label for correct customer name, size, style, and handing material prior to loading into trucks
• Load semi-trucks and box trucks with required finished product
• Assist in staging inventory and raw material for next day’s production

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

• Very active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
• Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school education
• One year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving or forklift operation
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math
• Licensed forklift truck operator
