Key Responsibilities

• Knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content
• Selecting appropriate type and size of container
• Inserting enclosures in container
• Using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage
• Closing and sealing container
• Applying labels or entering identifying data on container
• Operating several types of packaging equipment
• Maintaining work area in clean and orderly manner
• Maintaining inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration dates
• Acting as a "runner" and delivering messages, documents, or items to various locations at the facility when needed

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• Effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff
• Basic typing skills, PC computer skills, and working knowledge of MS Office
• Read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d)
• Able to lift to 50 pounds when required; push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack
• Able to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) and being able to lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repetitively
• Able to understand the precautions required when handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste
• Able to read computer screens and use scanning equipment
• Able to respond to alarms and alerts

Salary is commensurate with experience.
