Shipper/CDL Driver

About the role

We are seeking a 1st shift Shipper/CDL Driver to join our team and help drive our continued success. This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long-term growth of Douglas Dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Receives and ships incoming and outgoing product and delivers product to appropriate areas with minimal direction.
• Drives and operates a CDL required vehicle to transport products between locations and deliver to customers.
• Leverage your skills, experience, and perspective to make a meaningful impact.
• Collaborate with teammates across the organization, contribute ideas, and help deliver results that matter for our customers and our business.

Requirements

• Minimum one year in Shipping or Receiving
• Three years experience driving a CDL vehicle preferred
• Experience with a sit-down forklift required
• Experience with a standup forklift preferred

Qualifications

• Class A CDL License
• Tech/Equipment TCM and System knowledge: Includes item inquiry, BOM lookup, Part Specs, printing shipping labels, OTS database, shipping scanners
• Understanding of basic lean philosophies (DDMS)
• Knowledge of all wastes and where to dump certain types of scrap
• Basic computer skills

Additional Skills

• Physical Requirements: Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials. Be able to move around safely in a manufacturing environment. Lift up to 50 pounds with good body mechanics.
• Working Environment: Operating a day cab tractor, loading trailers outdoors in weather as needed, loading trailers indoors next to production lines with loud noises and pedestrians working nearby. May operate a semi-truck for more than half the workday.
