This job is located in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

About the Role

Noblis and our wholly owned subsidiaries take on some of the nation’s toughest challenges, delivering advanced solutions to our customers’ most critical missions. We work with a broad range of government agencies in the defense, intelligence, and federal civilian sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Help Deck Division prepare for ATG and CREWCERT.
  • Walk the crew through their line handling stations, boat deck, anchor detail, and UNREP stations so they know the layout of their ship before assessments begin.
  • Support Limited Training Teams (LTTs) by providing hands-on assistance during training evolutions to help the crew build proficiency before certification events.
  • Conduct ship checks by walking the weather decks to verify that equipment is installed correctly and matches specifications and drawings (e.g., pelican hooks, life rings, davits, UNREP gear, helo tie-downs).
  • Track equipment inventory by verifying that all required deck department gear is onboard, accounted for, and in the right location.
  • Bridge the gap between build specs and fleet requirements by identifying disconnects when the shipyard built something to contract but the fleet needs it configured differently, and work with SUPSHIP and PMS 339 to resolve it.
  • Coordinate visits and inspections by scheduling and preparing for ATG walkdowns, ISIC visits, and other assessment events, and help the crew work through ASA checklists so they're ready when inspectors arrive.
  • Research and answer deck department questions by pulling drawings and documentation to find answers about particular stations or pieces of equipment.
  • Deconflict competing priorities by helping sort out scheduling and access so shipyard work, training events, and inspections happen smoothly without anything falling through the cracks.
  • Support aviation as needed by assisting with flight deck certification prep, tie-down verification, and related tasks when requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience (preferably with Navy destroyers (DDG), amphibious Landing Platform Dock (LPD), and/or the amphibious Landing Helicopter Assault (LHA) naval platforms).
  • Must have a Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must have experience in DECK operations and be knowledgeable of US Navy operating, certification, training, and administrative procedures.
  • Must be able to physically maneuver on board US Navy ships, including accessing high and confined spaces and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience with the MS Office suite of software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a US citizen.

Qualifications

  • Senior enlisted DECK personnel with Search and Rescue (SAR), small boat operations, and ship aviation facility experience is desirable.
  • Boatswain's Mates (BM) and Aviation Boatswain's Mates (AB) who have stood sea and anchor detail, been through ATG cycles, and know what "ready for sea" looks like on a destroyer.
  • Understanding of drawings and blueprints to support ships force.
