Engineering$165k–$223k/yrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? The description includes introductory paragraph about Boeing, then specifics. We need to use

for section headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections if posting has real specific content. We must not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, application instructions. Also remove "Applications for this position will be accepted until Oct. 08, 2026" (application instruction). Also remove "Export Control Requirements" maybe not needed? It's not a standard heading; but we can include as part of Requirements? Might be considered part of qualifications? It's about US Person requirement. Could be included in Requirements or Qualifications. But we need to preserve all substantive info. So we need to include that requirement somewhere. We need sections: About the role (intro paragraph). Responsibilities (list). Requirements (basic qualifications). Qualifications (preferred qualifications). Skills (maybe combine? but we have communication skills etc). Benefits (Total Rewards). Pay (pay range). Schedule (shift). Also maybe Security Clearance etc could be under Requirements. We must not create sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". Pay range is given: $164,900 – $223,100. So include Pay section. Schedule: "This position is for 1st shift". So include Schedule. Benefits: Total Rewards description includes many benefits. So include Benefits. Now we need to format lists with
  • . For prose use

. We must not include duplicated lines. Ensure we capture all substantive info. Let's extract content. Intro: "At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us. Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Ship Suitability Engineer (Level 5) to support the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Team in Berkeley, MO. Located within the BDS Air Dominance Systems Engineering core group in St Louis, Missouri supporting the Ship Suitability functions in the core and across individual programs. The candidate will support core efforts in development and maintenance processes and tools and will act as the “user/customer advocate” on naval programs to instill operational quality in Boeing’s products. The candidate will collaborate with Boeing Integrated Product Teams and the maritime customer, working to inform integration into the shipboard environment including approaches to launch and recovery, deck handling, communication modes with the ship, and shipboard qualification testing. The candidate will support engineering and test efforts on programs at the systems level by analyzing designs, participating in trade studies, designing/developing concepts, and assisting with drafting and executing test plans for air ship integration of weapons systems. The candidate will also lead and support training efforts to educate Boeing and customer engineers in naval aviation operations, procedures, equipment and environments pertaining to ship suitability. Training efforts may include, but are not limited to, classroom training at Boeing facilities and leading groups of engineers aboard ships at sea and land-based facilities." That's the role description. Could be About the role. Responsibilities: The bullet list under "Position Responsibilities". It's a paragraph with multiple sentences each starting with "Leads". We can turn each sentence into a list item. Let's extract each responsibility sentence: - Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. - Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. - Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. - Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. - Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. - Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs. - This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Note: The last two maybe more like requirements but they are in responsibilities block. We'll keep them as responsibilities? Could also move security clearance to Requirements. But we need to preserve all info; we can keep them under Responsibilities as list items. Now Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): - Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science - 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience - Thorough knowledge of naval aviation operations, aircraft maintainability and logistics support, and/or aircraft systems knowledge. - Excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): - Military or civilian experience working on U.S. Navy carriers or aviation-capable ships, preferably related to aircraft integration, deck handling, and/or test. - Experience in design, integration, and/or test of U.S. Navy carrier-based aircraft. - Experience with engineering analysis. - Experience with course development and/or course instruction. Conflict of Interest, Drug Free Workplace, Employee Referral, Contingent Upon Award are boilerplate? They are not standard headings; but they are substantive? Conflict of Interest is a requirement; but we could fold into Requirements? However instructions: remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. Conflict of Interest maybe legal boilerplate; but it's a specific requirement for candidates. Might be considered boilerplate? Not sure. The instruction says remove legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate. Conflict of Interest is legal. So we should remove it. Drug Free Workplace also legal boilerplate; remove. Employee Referral maybe not needed. Contingent Upon Award maybe not needed? It's a condition; but could be considered boilerplate. However we might keep "Contingent Upon Award" as it's substantive about position being contingent. But instruction says remove duplicated lines and application instructions; not explicitly to remove contingent. But it's similar to "Contingent Upon Program Award" later repeated. Might be considered duplicate. Safer to remove both? But we need to preserve all substantive information. The contingency is substantive. However there is also later "Contingent Upon Program Award". Might be duplicate. We could keep one mention. But we also have "Total Rewards" section with benefits description. We'll keep that. Pay: "Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $164,900 – $223,100" Schedule: "Shift This position is for 1st shift" Also "Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility." That's substantive; could be under Benefits or its own section? Not a standard heading; but we could include under Benefits as a bullet. Also "Security Clearance" repeated later; we already have it in responsibilities; but we could also include under Requirements. Also "Visa Sponsorship Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status." That's substantive; could be under Requirements. Also "Export Control Requirements: This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee." That's substantive; could be under Requirements. Also "Education Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required" duplicates basic qualification; we can ignore duplicate. Now we need to decide sections. We'll have:

    About the role

    ... (intro paragraph)

    Responsibilities

    • ... each responsibility

    Requirements

    • ... basic qualifications plus security clearance, visa sponsorship, export control, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • ... preferred qualifications

    Skills

maybe we can include communication skills already in requirements; but we could have a Skills section for "Excellent communication skills". However we already have that in requirements. Could omit Skills section to avoid thin sections. The instruction: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So we might skip Skills if covered elsewhere.

    Benefits

    • ... total rewards description plus relocation

    Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $164,900 – $223,100

    Schedule

This position is for 1st shift.

We must not include sections with filler. All have content. Now we need to ensure we don't include duplicated lines. Let's craft each list. First, About the role paragraph: combine the intro paragraphs into one cohesive paragraph. We'll keep as is. Now Responsibilities list items: 1. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. 2. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. 3. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. 4. Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. 5. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. 6. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs. 7. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Now Requirements list: combine basic qualifications plus visa sponsorship, export control, maybe also security clearance (though already in responsibilities, but we can include again? Might duplicate. Better to keep security clearance only once; we already have it in responsibilities. So we won't duplicate. We'll include basic qualifications and visa sponsorship, export control, maybe also note about U.S. Person requirement. Basic qualifications: - Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science - 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience - Thorough knowledge of naval aviation operations, aircraft maintainability and logistics support, and/or aircraft systems knowledge. - Excellent communication skills. Add: - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) to meet export control compliance requirements. - Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. We could also mention "Contingent upon program award" but maybe skip as it's not a requirement for candidate. We'll omit. Now Preferred Qualifications list: - Military or civilian experience working on U.S. Navy carriers or aviation-cap
