Shift Technician-Molding 2nd shift

About the Role

This position involves operating presses and auxiliary equipment, performing set-ups for various manufacturing processes, maintaining machinery, and troubleshooting production issues to ensure product quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate presses and auxiliary equipment such as silk screening, pad printing, heat staking, milling, sonic welding, press brake, and rivet machines.
• Verify calibrated torque on guns per work instructions and perform initial start-ups for sample and production runs.
• Maintain machinery and tooling to maximize efficiency and product quality.
• Troubleshoot equipment and machinery for production issues and optimize processes for quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
• Participate in and support cost reduction initiatives.
• Read and follow ISO procedures; complete daily set-up logs and maintain accurate forms, reports, logs, and charts.
• Ensure paperwork accuracy, follow work instructions, recognize and address product defects, and use measuring devices.
• Assist in root cause identification for defects and troubleshoot to prevent them.
• Meet established performance standards and participate in problem-solving and cost-saving efforts.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules and ensure equipment runs efficiently and on schedule.
• Relieve operators as needed, manage multiple tasks, and participate in cost-saving initiatives.
• Follow all safety rules, guidelines, and training; maintain clean work areas; wear required PPE.
• Recognize and report hazards; participate in safety programs; report all incidents immediately.
• Be available for overtime and interact professionally with co-workers to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Adapt to changing demands, support co-workers and company initiatives, and rotate between jobs/departments as needed.
• Assist in workstation and equipment setup, ensuring tools and equipment operate properly.
• Train others on mastered knowledge and skills.
• Report employee issues to supervisors/managers and participate in decision-making by gathering and presenting facts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous molding or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Certificate from a college or technical school desired.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to identify and correct equipment problems efficiently.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications for Pay Levels 25-28

• Achieved progressive merit increases up to Level 24.
• Served a minimum of two years as a Molding Technician.
• Meets goals and achieves "Above" ratings in the majority of performance standards with no "Below" ratings.
• Not currently in constructive action.
• Attends at least one all-day seminar or workshop every two years (with supervisor approval).
• Willingness to transfer or backfill other positions/departments as needed.
