2nd Shift Rework Technician

About the role
Analog Devices Inc., Chelmsford Massachusetts facility is looking for a 2nd Shift Rework Technician to support the manufacture of high-performance microwave modules and sub-systems. This hands-on position requires precision rework on QFN components, RF amplifiers, and products with extensive ground planes, using hot plates and hot-air rework tools while maintaining solder joint integrity and compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Work 8 hours under a microscope utilizing miniaturized hand tools such as tweezers and fine screwdrivers
- Perform in-process inspection and self-inspection
- Hand solder components, wires, and jumpers into assemblies per IPC-610
- Assemble and/or solder electronic components to printed circuit boards
- Perform MMIC die attach of chip components using silver epoxy
- Assemble hybrid circuits using silver epoxy and solder
- Read and work from detailed process sheets, prints, and drawings
- Follow both written and verbal instructions
- Use computers to retrieve drawings, work instructions, and support other job activities
- Demonstrate dexterity and eye-hand coordination for assembly using a variety of tools and equipment according to specifications and processes
- Apply Loctite, epoxy, and other compounds as required by assembly process steps
- Handle ESD-sensitive material and equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement teams alongside development engineering and manufacturing
- Maintain keen awareness of safety practices and familiarity with OSHA standards
- Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized per company guidelines
- Maintain a very good attendance record
- Be willing to be cross-trained and perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- High school diploma required; diploma from a Vocational High School or Technical Diploma is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in micro assembly, mechanical assembly, or related field
- Class 3 soldering skills per IPC-610
- Must be a US citizen; government security clearance is required (current clearance holder preferred)
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and documentation
- Commitment to learn and develop new skills
- Strong communication skills and commitment to quality products
- Good computer skills
Pay
The expected wage range for this position is $28 to $35 per hour. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus based on personal and company factors.
Schedule
Work hours are 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (2nd shift), eligible for shift differential.
