Shift Supv Public Safety-PAG

Responsibilities

• Frontline supervision of all assigned security functions and Public Safety staff.
• Coordinates all routine and emergency security activities as assigned by policy or management.
• Enforces all PHC regulations and applicable state and federal laws.
• Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention.
• Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Supervise and develop junior officers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• 4 years of general security, military, or other public safety experience, with two (2) years in a role requiring active firearm carry.
• Equivalent training and job experience demonstrating responsible handling of weapons and use of force may substitute.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid driver’s license in state and adherence to Piedmont’s Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy (upon hire).
• Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (IAHSS) within 1 year of hire.
• Certification to carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or baton.
• Certification to carry a company-issued firearm.
• Pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Maintain all training requirements, including certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification (preferred).
