Shift Supervisor (Special Events)/Seasonal Employment
About the role
The Special Events department at Chautauqua Institution's Chautauqua Hotel Company oversees various events including weddings, banquets, conferences, and special occasion celebrations. The department operates from April through November and seeks a supervisor to oversee food service staff, interact with guests, maintain high standards, and assist in event cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Supervise food service staff and monitor operations.
- Interact with guests and ensure their satisfaction exceeds expectations.
- Maintain the standards of a fine dining establishment in a fast-paced setting.
- Work alongside food service staff to ensure a quality guest experience.
- Assist Special Events management in overall cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct training for seasonal staff.
- All other duties as assigned.
About Your Compensation
Candidates may earn up to $21/hour, starting at $18.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
About Your Work Day
This position involves an eight-hour shift with a start time varying between 5am to 5pm. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
About The Referral Program
Chautauqua Institution offers a $500 referral bonus for active employees who refer a new candidate hired and employed for at least 90 days. For seasonal positions, the new candidate must be employed for at least 30 days until the closing date of the season, which is the last Sunday in August.
About Your Schedule
Seasonal employment may be available earlier and beyond the typical summer season based on business needs and candidate availability. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
About Living On The Grounds
