About the Role
Shift runners will prepare food products, answer phones, assist customers, operate the oven, wash dishes, and maintain store cleanliness. They must be able to provide direction, accept constructive criticism, and contribute to a team environment. Opportunities for growth within the company are available.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food products, including shaping pizza dough and assembling pizzas
- Answer phones and assist customers at the front counter
- Operate and tend the oven
- Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness of the store
- Unload and stock bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds)
- Carry ingredients, supplies, and trays of pizza dough (up to 30 pounds)
- Deliver pizzas and beverages to customers within a designated area
- Navigate stairs or ladders for tasks such as changing prices, cleaning, or maintenance
- Perform physical tasks such as pushing dollies, bending, crouching, and reaching
- Use tools and equipment including pizza cutters, peels, phones, and computers
- Deliver flyers and door hangers
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces. Work surfaces range from 36" to 48" in height.
- Walking: Short distances for brief durations, including travel between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations.
- Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table in an office.
- Lifting: Cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, lifted from the floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carrying: Items such as 3-pound cans, 30-pound pizza sauce, and trays of pizza dough (12 pounds per tray). During delivery, carrying pizzas and beverages while navigating stairs.
- Pushing/Pulling: Moving trays on dollies, requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force.
- Climbing: Navigating stairs or ladders for tasks such as changing prices, cleaning, or maintenance. Delivery may require climbing five or more flights of stairs.
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist, particularly at the pizza assembly station, and when stocking ingredients or cleaning.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally required for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
- Reaching: Continuous reaching in all directions, including above 72" and below waist level.
- Driving: Delivering pizzas within a designated area, requiring a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and access to an insured vehicle.
- Hand Tasks: Frequent use of hands for tasks such as shaping dough, using a pizza peel, assembling boxes, and operating tools. Eye-hand coordination is essential.
