About the Role
The Shift Manager Security ensures the efficient operation of the security department in line with the property’s established policies, procedures, and controls to guarantee guest and team member safety while protecting Company assets.
Responsibilities
- Assists with planning, implementing, and evaluating security operations and coordinates programs with other departments.
- Ensures timely submission of all security reports.
- Assigns Security staff to locations based on job requirements, skills, and experience.
- Monitors performance to evaluate efficiency and corrects inefficient work practices.
- Demonstrates and explains methods for detecting and apprehending individuals suspected of theft.
- Explains local laws concerning arrest and detention to Team Members.
- Conducts private investigations into theft, cheating, and Team Member misconduct.
- Acts as a courteous and professional representative of the property when interacting with guests and team members.
- Implements departmental and property procedures, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates security officers on assigned shifts.
- Patrols the property to identify potential security or safety issues.
- Assists in ensuring the safety and protection of guests, team members, and the facility.
- Updates security procedural manuals and documents all security and safety issues while maintaining reports.
- Helps maintain staffing levels, participates in interviewing, training, scheduling, evaluating, and disciplining employees as needed.
- Fosters an atmosphere that encourages employee success.
- Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, and counseling within assigned departments.
- Facilitates yearly performance reviews for all department employees.
- Prepares detailed reports on investigated matters.
- Performs other assigned tasks.

Requirements
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Casino Operations and NYS Gaming Commission (NYSGC) Regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- BA/BS in a related field preferred, or a combination of experience and education with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in Security and/or law enforcement required.
- Previous experience in a Casino Resort preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate license through the New York State Gaming Commission.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy and procedure manuals and related documents.
- Ability to respond to inquiries from Team Members or guests.
- Fluency in English required.
- Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
Schedule
Overnight shift.
