Shift Manager Operations

About the role

Location: Butler, PA. Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works has an immediate need for an Operations Shift Manager in the Steelmaking department. Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. The Company is vertically integrated from mined raw materials, direct reduced iron, and ferrous scrap to primary steelmaking and downstream finishing, stamping, tooling, and tubing. The Shift Manager is responsible for managing a union workforce and processing steel through the unit.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and providing work direction to hourly bargaining unit employees.
• Control shop timing, including making sure each steel heat meets its destination on time.
• Assisting in the development, review, and update of Job Safety and Health Analysis and Quality Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous supervisory experience in an industrial or related environment.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Direct experience with steelmaking, melting, refining or casting steel.
• Supervisory experience in a union environment.
