Shift Manager Maintenance Evening Shift
Summary Of Responsibilities
Manage the maintenance of mechanical equipment and provide day-to-day supervision of Maintenance Technician Mechanics (MTMs) within the assigned department/area.
Develop expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems within the assigned area.
Lead daily safety interactions and reinforce safe work practices in all maintenance activities.
Ensure maintenance activities are performed in compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Coach, develop, and hold employees accountable, ensuring they have the tools, training, and knowledge to perform work safely and effectively.
Manage assigned maintenance spending and budgets using strong project management skills and a thorough understanding of equipment maintenance processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Maintenance, Op Tech/Continuous Improvement, Accounting, Engineering, Vendors, Suppliers, and counterparts at other facilities.
Develop and execute maintenance strategies to ensure high levels of equipment reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
- HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited school
- 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing/industrial environment or the military
- Must be able to work in a hot, dusty environment, including climbing stairs, ladders, and walking inclines. Also, able to work/walk safely on uneven surfaces and outdoors in all weather
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing/industrial operation or the military
- Experience working in a Steel mill
- Experience working with a unionized workforce
- Experience working with a computer-based PM and/or equipment reliability program
Pay
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $110,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
