Shift Manager

About the role

The role involves leading shifts in a McDonald’s restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. As a Shift Manager, you will ensure great Quality, Service, and Cleanliness to customers, manage inventory, maintain cleanliness, train staff, and handle various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Provide leadership to crew and other managers during a shift.
• Plan for each shift, monitor performance, take action to ensure team meets McDonald’s standards, and communicate with the next Shift Manager.
• Monitor safety, security, and profitability.
• Meet targets during shifts and help assigned Departments meet their goals.
• Manage food safety, internal communication, inventory management, daily maintenance and cleanliness, quality food production, exceptional customer service, and safety and security.
• Train staff as needed.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience, preferably within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with a flexible schedule and passion for the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in a corporate-owned and operated restaurant.

Pay and Benefits

Certified Shift Manager salary begins at $17 per hour and can go up to $26 per hour, depending on certification status and previous work history. Benefits include 5-10 days of paid time off, educational opportunities, medical, dental, and vision coverage, disability insurance, and more.
