Shift Manager

About the role

Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience. They provide leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to maintain high standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. Shift Managers handle various tasks such as planning for each shift, monitoring performance, enforcing McDonald’s standards, managing safety and security, and communicating with the next Shift Manager to prepare them for their shift.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor shifts to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with McDonald’s standards for Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with the next Shift Manager to facilitate smooth transitions.
• Manage inventory, daily maintenance, and cleanliness.
• Oversee food production and quality.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor and enforce safety and security protocols.
• Train new employees and assist in their development.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting.
• A positive attitude and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate the demands of the job.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Qualifications

Education through Archways to Opportunity, including opportunities to earn a High School degree, college tuition assistance, and English classes as a second language.

Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Customer service orientation.
• Basic computer skills for managing schedules and tracking inventory.
