Shift Manager
About the role
The role involves leading shifts in a McDonald’s restaurant operated by an independent franchisee. This franchisee is a separate entity from McDonald’s USA, meaning the franchisee is solely responsible for employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Lead shifts to ensure customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience.
- Provide leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to maintain high standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
- Maintain safety, security, and profitability during the shift.
- Communicate with the next Shift Manager to help prepare them for their shift.
- Meet targets set during the shift and assist in meeting departmental goals.
- Manage inventory, daily maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and food production quality.
- Handle food safety and internal communication.
- Manage crew effectively.
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Previous leadership experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting.
- A positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible schedule and a passion for working in the McDonald’s environment.
- Must be 18 years or older to qualify as a manager.
