About the Role
Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), the Shift Leader runs great shifts independently, taking ownership of problems and leading the restaurant team in culture-building, best practices, and daily operations. A well-run shift is the foundation of a well-run restaurant, and the Shift Leader strives for excellence in every shift.
Responsibilities
- Execute responsibilities for people, customer service, and operations.
- Ensure all Team Members complete their assigned tasks and maintain a clean, neat appearance.
- Demonstrate that customer needs are the highest priority and resolve complaints quickly while maintaining positive relations.
- Greet customers with a smile, work collaboratively with peers, and serve customers with a sense of urgency.
- Provide regular feedback to the RGM on Team Member performance and offer constructive and complimentary feedback.
- Actively participate in training Team Members and handle conflicts constructively.
- Assist in profit & loss management by following cash control/security procedures, managing inventory, and overseeing labor.
- Ensure proper product preparation, rotation, portioning, cooking, and holding times.
- Assist the RGM with facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are followed.
- Adhere to the posted work schedule, report to work on time in uniform, and provide appropriate notice for absences.
- Use the approved time-keeping system accurately.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check.
- Able to perform basic business math.
- Able to stock shelves and coolers, clean the parking lot and surrounding grounds, and sweep/mop floors.
- Able to lift and carry trash containers (up to 50 lbs.) and tolerate standing, walking, and stooping for 90% of shift time.
