About the Role
Domino's Pizza is hiring Shift Managers to open or close our stores and ensure we operate at our highest level every day. This is the first step in our Management Program and an opportunity to start a leadership career with a globally recognized Domino's franchise. You'll work for a fun, flexible company and gain valuable experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee everything that happens during your shift, including cost controls, inventory, cash control, and customer relations.
- Set the example by following ALL policies and procedures 100% of the time and ensuring your crew does the same.
- Complete paperwork, manage food, adhere to schedules, maintain perfect store image and standards, and provide great customer service.
- Receive and process telephone orders while handling sensitive customer information responsibly.
- Execute credit transactions and provide quality customer service through positive, professional interactions.
- Work as part of a team: support other workstations, complete closing duties, and maintain a clean store.
- Operate all equipment, clean the facility daily, and perform assigned workstation duties (e.g., making pizzas, preparing ingredients, taking orders).
- Stock ingredients, take inventory, and complete associated paperwork.
- Contribute to a team atmosphere of energy and fun.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to memorize recipes, portion amounts, and/or follow detailed job aids.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliable transportation to/from work.
- For delivery roles: Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record, access to an insured vehicle for deliveries, and ability to navigate adverse terrain (e.g., multi-story buildings, private homes).
Work Conditions
- Exposure to: Varying/adverse weather (e.g., removing trash, deliveries), in-store temperatures (36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in work areas), sudden temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), hot surfaces/tools (oven up to 500°F+), sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
- Sensory Requirements: Talking/hearing on the phone, near/mid-range vision for in-store tasks, depth perception, ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces, far/night vision for driving.
- Temperaments: Direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze/compile data, make judgments/decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks performed standing; work surfaces 36"–48" high.
- Walking: Short distances/durations (e.g., between store and delivery vehicle).
- Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk/table.
- Lifting: Up to 50 lbs (e.g., ingredient cases, 30-lb pizza sauce, 12-lb dough trays).
- Carrying: Pizzas, beverages, 3-lb cans, dough trays (12 lbs each).
- Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
- Climbing: Stairs/ladder for maintenance or deliveries (5+ flights possible).
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds continuously), front counter, and stocking.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously (up, down, forward) for tasks like scooping cornmeal, washing dishes, or answering phones.
- Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent/forceful use of forearms/wrists (e.g., shaping dough, using pizza peel/cutter, assembling boxes).
