About the role

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a compassionate and organized Shift Leader to support our community-based residential program for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support and structure in a therapeutic group home setting
• Lead shift operations, mentor staff, and monitor safety and facility conditions
• Guide residents through orientation, recovery planning, and independent living goals
• Facilitate 1-on-1 and group sessions to support personal development
• Cook meals, manage medications, coordinate outings, appointments, and safety procedures
• Respond to crisis situations with skill and calm

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3+ years in human services and 6 months with VOA preferred
• Experience working with mental health populations
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to de-escalate conflict
• Valid driver’s license & ability to meet VOA driving standards
