Description
Overseas and directs the safe and effective operation of the molding department. Works on the line if/as needed. Schedules, directs and coordinates activities of production workers. Develops and executes production build and ship schedule based on customer orders. This is a 2nd shift position, working 3pm to 1am, Monday thru Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and support molding department employees to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Monitor daily production schedules and adjust labor or equipment assignments as needed.
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and downtime tracking.
- Ensure adherence to company police and procedures.
- Provide feedback to employees and support performance improvement efforts.
- Develop production and shipping schedules and analyzes throughput to plan. Adjust schedules as necessary to meet customer demand.
- Confers with shift supervisors and/or leads to coordinating activities.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Reports shift performance and output daily, with root causes of any shortcomings identified.
- Reviews and advise Material Manager of safety stock levels and reorder points.
- Manage employees in designated work centers / production areas.
- Supervises direct labor employees. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in foam.
- Previous leadership or lead operator experience strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and safety documentation.
- Ability to write reports.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and associates.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift, for extended period (10-hour shifts).
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat and moving equipment.
- Must wear the required PPE and adhere to all safety protocols.
