Shift Lead - Coating Acupac Non-Woven Operators Direct

About the Role

This position maintains a high degree of performance in the operation of coating ovens to ensure safe, efficient, and economical function. The Coating Lead works with Coating Operator I to meet operating standards and maintain safety and cGMP compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Q/A on the release of machines and products being manufactured.
  • Sign for receipt of components, issues, returns, and transfers, ensuring accurate recording.
  • Ensure proper line clearance from the previous job before starting the machine, and verify correct components and materials for new startups.
  • Exceed all operational standards and ensure product specifications are met.
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the work center and area.
  • Record production data, post production information, and complete reports and pallet tickets both electronically and on paper.
  • Complete line cleaning and product changes.
  • Assign routine daily tasks to Coating operators and auxiliary staff.
  • Assist in the training of coating operators and techs.
  • Reassign staff to the Packette area if workload is insufficient, reporting to Packette Supervision for assignments.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Paperwork

  • Follow PSDS instructions to ensure accuracy.
  • Complete and submit an operator report at the end of every shift.
  • Complete and submit a line clearance for each shift.
  • Prepare paperwork to return materials to stock.
  • Reconcile components daily.
  • Ensure timely and thorough processing of paperwork to support expedient delivery of material to Packette production.

Control of Materials

  • Verify materials on the line are correct for the job.
  • Check that all materials are released.
  • Process returns with correct counts and proper labeling.
  • Ensure sufficient material availability.

Communication

  • Communicate with Manager, Supervisor, QC, and other Operators.
  • Seek help for problems related to people, machines, quality, or other issues.
  • Describe machine problems clearly to mechanics to aid repairs.
  • Provide constructive feedback to operators to improve performance.

Safety

  • Know how to stop the machine correctly and quickly.
  • Follow procedures for fire drills.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Properly manage trash and recycling.
  • Follow cGMP requirements.
  • Understand Hazardous Communication / MSDS (Right to Know).

Qualifications

  • High learning ability to perform manual assembly and machine-related duties while meeting quality and quantity standards.
  • Excellent visual inspection skills to identify defects.
  • Strong clerical ability to accurately record data, with basic mathematical aptitude.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend operating procedures in English (bilingual Spanish a plus).
  • Necessary machine skills, including proper operation, adjustment, maintenance, and safe work practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
