MUST be willing to work D Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Every Other Sunday, 6:45PM to 7AM. A $2 per hour shift differential applies to this shift.
Responsibilities
- Set up, start up, operate, and shut down film extrusion lines safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and adjust processing parameters, including temperatures, pressures, screw speeds, haul-off speeds, air settings, and gauge control to maintain product quality.
- Perform product changeovers, material changes, and die cleanings with minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment, material, and process issues to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.
- Inspect film for quality characteristics including gauge, width, appearance, strength, and customer-specific requirements.
- Accurately complete production reports, quality documentation, and downtime records.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with maintenance on equipment repairs and major troubleshooting.
- Train and mentor Level I operators on machine operation, safety procedures, quality standards, and best practices.
- Assist supervisors in developing standardized operating procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with all safety, environmental, and company policies.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts to improve productivity, quality, and equipment uptime.
- Assist with new product trials and process development.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality personnel, maintenance, and team members regarding production status and equipment performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–5+ years of film extrusion operating experience preferred.
- Advanced understanding of extrusion processes, polymers, resins, additives, and material handling.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot processing and equipment issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read work orders, specifications, gauges, and measuring devices.
- Basic computer skills for production reporting.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of film extrusion equipment and process controls.
- Ability to identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to lead by example and promote safe work practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work around moving machinery.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Leadership Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead during assigned shifts.
- Mentor and develop junior operators.
- Assist with operator skill assessments and training.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Support supervisors in achieving production and performance goals.
Schedule
D Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Sunday, 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM.
Pay
$2 per hour shift differential applies to this shift.
