Shift Lead - Coating Acupac Non-Woven Operators Direct

About the role

Maintain a high degree of performance in the operation of coating ovens to ensure safe, efficient, and economical function. Work with Coating Operator I to meet operating standards and maintain safety and cGMP compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Quality Assurance on the release of machines and manufactured products.
  • Sign for receipt of components, issues, returns, and transfers, ensuring accurate recording.
  • Verify proper line clearance, components, and materials before machine start-up for new jobs.
  • Ensure operations exceed set standards and products meet predetermined specifications.
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of work centers and areas.
  • Record production data electronically and on paper; complete reports and pallet tickets.
  • Complete line cleaning and product changes.
  • Assign routine daily tasks to Coating operators and auxiliary staff.
  • Assist in training Coating operators and technicians.
  • Reassign staff to the Packette area if workload is insufficient, reporting to Packette Supervision.
  • Follow PSDS instructions for accuracy in paperwork.
  • Complete and submit operator reports and line clearances at the end of each shift.
  • Prepare paperwork for returning materials to stock and reconcile components daily.
  • Ensure timely processing of paperwork to support expedient material delivery to Packette production.
  • Verify materials on the line are correct and released for the job.
  • Manage returns with accurate counts and proper labeling; ensure sufficient material availability.
  • Communicate effectively with Managers, Supervisors, QC, and other Operators.
  • Seek assistance for problems related to people, machines, quality, or other issues.
  • Describe machine problems clearly to mechanics to aid repairs.
  • Provide constructive feedback to operators to improve performance.
  • Know and follow procedures for stopping machines quickly and safely.
  • Maintain a clean work area and proper control of trash and recycling.
  • Adhere to cGMP requirements and Hazardous Communication/MSDS (Right to Know).

Qualifications

  • High learning ability to perform manual assembly and machine-related duties meeting quality and quantity standards.
  • Excellent visual inspection skills to identify defects.
  • Strong clerical ability to record data accurately, with basic mathematical aptitude.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend operating procedures in English (bilingual Spanish a plus).
  • Necessary machine skills, including operation, adjustment, maintenance, and safe work practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
