About the role
This is a county position within the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. The following duties are typical for this position; other duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform vehicle maintenance and shuttling
- Create professional documents and documentation
- Use office tools and contribute to report writing
- Support training initiatives
- Observe court testimony
- Provide community law enforcement education
- Monitor weather and environmental conditions
- Assist in investigations
- Support evidence custodians
- Deploy equipment in the community
- Support tobacco sales compliance efforts
- Assist with traffic control
- Support foot patrols
- Develop public relations materials
- Support the review of traffic and crime data
- Assist with follow-up efforts
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Sheriff
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment
- Occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force
- Regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms
- Standard vision requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively through vocal means
- Hearing sufficient to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
- Skill in organizational and time management to prioritize duties
Work Environment
- Generally works in a moderately noisy office setting
- Requires observing general surroundings and activities
- Includes occasional outdoor activities in seasonal weather extremes
