About the role
This is a continuous filing exam. Next filing cut-offs are at 5:00 pm on: 7/20/26, 8/24/26, 9/21/26, 10/19/26, 11/23/26, 12/21/26 (final).
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform a wide variety of specialized and/or technical law enforcement support duties within the Sheriff's Department.
- Perform Alpha and numeric filing; indexing and sorting documents.
- Use basic arithmetic, including percentages, fractions, and decimals.
- Use correct English usage, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Interpret and clarify rules, regulations, policies, or procedures.
- Maintain accurate records.
Requirements
- One year of paid, full time work experience performing clerical, general recordkeeping, and/or accounting work.
- One year of paid, full time work experience in a position involving public contact, which included interpreting/clarifying rules, regulations, policies, or procedures.
Qualifications
- Driver's License: Valid California driver license, Class C or higher, is required prior to appointment to this class.
- Physical Abilities: Stand, walk, and/or sit for long periods of time; work various shifts to provide 24-7 coverage, including nights, weekends and holidays; work in a detention facility and be in direct contact with inmates; potential exposure to hazardous materials including bodily fluids; wear and maintain a designated Sheriff's Department uniform.
