Shelter Supervisor

Gateway West | Homeless Shelter Supervisor “YOU lead the team that helps create a safe place for people to take their next step.” Gateway West is Albuquerque’s largest shelter, serving an average of 600 people per night. The shelter provides low-barrier, trauma-informed overnight services, meals, safe sleeping accommodations, transportation, and access to case management and supportive services. HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE? You will oversee daily shelter operations while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents. You will supervise staff, coordinate 24/7 staffing coverage, provide coaching and training, manage crisis situations, and ensure services and operations meet program standards. You will also work with community partners and service providers to connect residents with resources that support their transition to safe, stable housing. WHO YOU ARE? You understand homelessness, trauma-informed care, and community resources, and you can effectively lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications And Competencies Education/Experience: High School DiplomaMinimum of 2 years in social services or shelter management, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role Other Requirements: Strong understanding of homelessness issues, social services, and local community resourcesExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and HMIS data baseStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesCommitment to supporting individuals experiencing homelessnessAbility to work effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competenceCapacity to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively WHAT DOES CPLC OFFER YOU AS A VALUED EMPLOYEE?
