Essential Functions
- Affirm safety of residents in building and on grounds by actively observing and enforcing shelter policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Resolve problems between residents as appropriate.
- Complete pre-screening and intake processing for new individuals seeking admission to the emergency shelter.
- Add entries of incidents to the daily shelter log record.
- Sign and update previous entries at the beginning of each shift.
- Update and maintain current daily client lists on computer.
- Enter client data into the HMIS database when authorized and trained to do so.
Education And Experience
- High school/GED Certificate with one year work experience.
- Combination of training and work experience will be considered.
- Must be a team player, self-starter, and perform well with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, independent judgment, and decision-making skills, independent and creative thinking, ability to work with a team.
- Supportive of The Salvation Army’s mission and policies.
- Must possess or obtain Adult and Child CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens certification within three months of employment.
- Complete HMIS training within three months of employment for select shifts.
Physical And Work Environment Requirements
- Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include: using a computer, answering phones, etc.
- Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
