Shelter Advocate – Weekends & Overnight Shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily needs
• Conduct shelter intakes
• Maintain shelter safety and security
• Answer hotline calls
• Provide emotional support
• Made community referrals
• Respond to crisis situations as they arise
• Help maintain the overall organization and cleanliness of the shelter
• Work collaboratively with staff to ensure high-quality services for residents

Requirements

• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or related populations
• Strong interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently
• A commitment to trauma-informed care
• Flexibility
• Emotional maturity
• The ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment
