Qualifications
- Experience providing excellent customer service and inclusive services to a diverse client group.
- Strong computer skills (MS office, database system, and other software).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management skills and the flexibility and ability to prioritize job tasks.
- Ability to provide services consistent with Rose Brooks Center’s values, beliefs, and philosophies, centered on the principles of trauma-informed care and accessibility.
- Proven ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to provide proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year or more of experience working in a residential setting or crisis intervention role is highly preferred.
- Courses or classwork related to human services, social work, or related field.
- Experience in providing domestic violence advocacy.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and dynamics of domestic violence.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Physical and Mental Demands/Working Conditions
- Ability to perform the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Ability to see a computer screen, read, and complete forms.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds to waist level; push, pull, bend, climb, reach, sit, walk, and stand.
- Ability to transport (drive) residents on occasion.
- Ability to answer phone calls in a busy environment (hear callers and be responsive).
- Ability to use standard cleaning supplies.
- Exposure to animals (primarily dogs and cats).
- Exposure to contagious illnesses that may be present in an office or shelter environment.
- Exposure to others’ trauma.
- Ability to take personal responsibility for the effects of trauma exposure to reduce its negative impact on self and others.
- Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment while multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities.
Hours
- Full-time, non-exempt; Friday–Monday, 9 p.m.–7 a.m., including occasional holidays.
Compensation and Benefits
- This non-exempt position starts at $20.00 per hour, with an additional 5% shift differential for hours worked between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. and all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
