About the Role

This position is responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of Spotlight 29 Casino and Tortoise Rock Casino bar, lounge, and/or other locations. Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.
  • Deliver our Five Star Experience by embodying our Mission Statement and Service Promise while adhering to department service standards, including: Welcoming, Proactive, Seamless, Personalized, and Valued.
  • Take orders from customers or Beverage Servers.
  • Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks using standard recipes.
  • Prepare alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Serve wine and draught or bottled beer.
  • Collect money for drinks served and provide proper change.
  • Enter items in the point-of-sale system.
  • Handle cash and non-cash transactions.
  • Order or requisition liquors and supplies.
  • Stock and rotate bar with liquors, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, and other items needed for service.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to create an attractive display.
  • Slice fruit for garnishing drinks using proper knife-handling skills.
  • Replenish bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts.
  • Request identification from customers when legal age is questioned.
  • Replenish beverages as requested and frequently check back with guests to inquire about satisfaction.
  • Perform side work as directed by management.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Wear uniform during work hours, meetings, and training.
  • Keep all equipment thoroughly clean and notify management of any repairs needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
  • Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to guests and vendors and assist them as required.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training.
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must pass periodic random drug screens.
  • Must be able to pass a background suitability investigation.
  • Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Occasionally required to use upper extremities, including hands and fingers, to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • May occasionally be required to climb or balance, stoop, bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to use repetitive movements to complete tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May occasionally work in low-light conditions and be exposed to loud noise for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • Multiple locations, including gaming facilities.
  • Some enterprises are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; must be flexible to work any and all hours.
  • Must be available for emergency calls 24/7.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Some enterprises are not smoke-free environments.
  • Surveillance cameras and audio equipment monitor the premises 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
