SHEETMETAL JOURNEYMAN

A Sheet Metal Journeyman at TP Mechanical Contractors is responsible for daily work projects involving all types of sheet metal. The role requires reading and understanding blueprints, communicating effectively with job‑site personnel and sub‑contractors, and representing the company in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install sheet metal and/or duct systems.
• Read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Install hangars or supports for systems.
• Assist with the assembly and installation of HVAC equipment as necessary.
• Keep equipment in good working order and ensure proper, timely maintenance.
• Follow all OSHA and TPMC safety standards.
• Maintain a clear work area, performing routine clean‑up as needed.
• Offload deliveries and load trucks at job sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in pipefitting/HVAC field operations.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of general sheet metal and HVAC installation.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Ability to work within precise limits of accuracy and productivity.
• Basic math skills.
• Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Physical Requirements

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Capable of lifting objects up to 60 lb.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Special Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
