Sheetmetal Journeyman

About the role

This position involves operating various fabricating machines and hand tools to assemble and install sheet metal components.

Responsibilities

• Operate shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
• Use spot welders, hand-held power tools, air hammers, and hand tools to assemble duct work and other sheet metal assemblies.
• Install duct work and sheet metal assemblies on-site according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and portable power tools.
• Install air moving equipment such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters.
• Inspect and test installations for compliance with project requirements.

Requirements

• 5 years experience with sheet metal work in the mechanical/HVAC industry.
• Understand basic math.
• Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
• Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Perform various duties that may change often and rate information using measurable standards.
• OSHA-10 certification is required. If you do not currently have an OSHA-10, we will provide training prior to your employment.
