About the Role

The Sheetmetal Mechanic will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment, including ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers, and air moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
• Use spot welders, hand-held power tools, air hammers, and hand tools to assemble duct work and other sheet metal assemblies.
• Install duct work and sheet metal assemblies on-site according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and portable power tools.
• Install air moving equipment, such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters.
• Inspect and test installations for compliance with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with sheetmetal work in the mechanical/HVAC industry.
• Understand basic math.
• Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
• One year of sheetmetal experience in the commercial industry.
• Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties which may change often and rate information using measurable standards.

Requirements

• OSHA-10 certification is required. If you do not have an OSHA-10, we will provide the opportunity to take the course prior to your employment.
