Key Responsibilities
- Follow all shop safety policies and procedures
- Aid in fabrication of ductwork and fittings using shop equipment
- Operate shears, brakes, rollers, punches, drills, and other fabrication tools
- Cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal components to specification
- Install duct connectors, seams, drives, clips, and fasteners
- Trim, grind, deburr, and finish metal components
- Measure and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy and quality control
- Prepare duct sections for shipment to job sites
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with inventory organization and material handling
- Participate in apprenticeship training and career development programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50–70 lbs regularly, stand for extended periods, frequent bending, lifting, and material handling, comfortable working around fabrication machinery
Work Schedule
Four (4) 10-hour days. Overtime is possible depending on production needs.
Compensation
Compensation begins at $18 per hour, with potential increases up to $25 per hour upon completion of milestones within the apprenticeship qualification program.
