Sheeter Assistant (56581)
How You'll Make An Impact
Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and production runs according to work orders and specifications.
Load rolls of paperboard, paper, or other packaging materials onto the sheeter.
Support the Sheeter Operator in monitoring machine performance and production output.
Inspect finished sheets for size, squareness, quality, and appearance.
Remove defective materials and notify the operator of quality concerns.
Label and stage finished pallets for shipment or further processing.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately and timely.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Avoid operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment without authorization.
Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and coworkers.
May occasionally fill in for the First Operator to cover breaks, lunches, vacation, or sick leave.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand work orders, production schedules, and measuring devices.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement conversion.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or varying shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist frequently.
- Possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate controls and handle materials.
- Ability to work around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
- Work performed in a packaging manufacturing facility with exposure to production equipment, powered industrial trucks, noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required.
Schedule & Work Hours
This is a full-time, on-site position working 2pm-10pm Monday through Friday. However, changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours. Every effort will be made to give advance notice of any changes.
