Sheet Metal Worker I

Summary Assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products, parts and equipment. What You’ll Be Responsible For In This Role Assembles units, exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods and makes pan rings according to job orderSmooths burred surfaces with files and grindersLay and attach metal or wood flooring and/or coveringApply primer, paint, and caulk as neededPerform close up requirementsOther duties as assigned What Are The Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gaugingAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
