Sheet Metal Worker
What You'll Be Doing
This position involves assisting and performing sheet metal fabrication, maintenance, and installation of HVAC and kitchen equipment. Tasks are carried out according to blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions. Regular operation of tools and equipment like snips, shears, grinders, hammers, saws, drills, and welding equipment is required. Overtime may be necessary based on operational needs.
About the Role
This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled as either an Associate Sheet Metal Worker (SK1) or Sheet Metal Worker (SK2). The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities
- Assist and perform sheet metal fabrication, maintenance, and installation of HVAC and kitchen equipment.
- Work based on blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
- Operate tools and equipment such as snips, shears, grinders, hammers, saws, drills, and welding equipment.
- Perform tasks that require lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs. frequently.
- Work in various conditions including confined spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures.
- Work outdoors 30% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and work
- Valid driver's license
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Mathematical calculation skills
- Computer skills/familiarity with word processor and spreadsheets
- Able to utilize electronic procurement system
- Able to lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. or more occasionally
- Able to climb ladders and scaffolds and work from heights up to 100 feet
- Able to work under a variety of conditions, such as confined space (tunnels, pits), heights, and hot/cold conditions
- Required to work outdoors 30% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3+ years of experience with sheet metal repair, fabrication, and installation work, HVAC ductwork and fittings, soldering, welding, and ability to interpret blueprints and fabricate from drawings or sketches
- Valid driver's license
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Mathematical calculation skills necessary
- Computer skills/familiarity with word processor and spreadsheets
- Able to utilize electronic procurement system
- Able to lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. or more occasionally
- Able to climb ladders and scaffolds and work from heights up to 100 feet
- Able to work under a variety of conditions, such as confined space (tunnels, pits), heights, and hot/cold conditions

Pay
The pay band for this position is S040 for SK1 and S050 for SK2.
