About the role
Lead sheet metal production operations across NY and NJ locations supporting restoration and new construction projects. Manage a team of approximately 10 employees across two branches. Oversee production scheduling, fabrication, quality, safety, inventory, equipment, payroll, personnel, and order fulfillment. Ensure efficient production operations while maintaining quality, safety, and delivery standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules for sheet metal fabrication projects.
- Oversee daily production activities across both NY and NJ facilities.
- Manage fabrication processes including forming, cutting, stamping, flashing, and coping.
- Monitor quality control and ensure products meet specifications and industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Manage production equipment, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and production-floor safety requirements.
- Oversee raw material and finished goods inventory.
- Manage employee scheduling, performance, hiring, and payroll activities.
- Coordinate order processing and ensure accurate, timely customer fulfillment.
- Organize manpower, materials, equipment, and workflow to meet production targets.
- Travel between NY and NJ facilities as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across both locations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of sheet metal production experience with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing production teams and multiple manufacturing locations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with P21 (Prophet 21) or a similar ERP system.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience managing payroll, scheduling, hiring, and employee performance.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Ability and willingness to travel between NY and NJ locations.
