Roles And Responsibilities Supervise the layout, assembly and installation of various types and sizes of sheet metal ductSolve job related problems/challenges and escalate accordinglyInventory materialDirect others on work activities and organize the scheduling of resources.Assess manpower and material needed for tasksManage and direct crew sizes of 2 to 15 workersPlan out tasks for crewRead blueprints and equipment packaging lists for assembly.Solve simple job-related problems and bring solutions to the superintendent or project manager.Coordinate and communicate with customers, owners’ reps, trade partners, subcontractorsAbility to work with a variety of tools, large machines, and specialty equipment.Support the Superintendent and Project Manager to complete the project on time.Provide the best quality and productive work without contact reminders.Follow, implement and enforce all safety policies and procedures Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time. Qualifications And Education Requirements Must be able to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, and some weekends)Must have reliable transportationMust have reliable form of communicationMust have good written and verbal communication skillsMust show up on time in the appropriate attire and professionally present yourselfMinimum of 5 years of commercial mechanical sheet metal experience and of 2 years supervisor experienceBasic technology skillsAbility to clearly communicate with the superintendent, and follow directionsAbility to clearly communicate with general contractors, customers, design engineers as well as other tradesMust know and understand every aspect of HVAC and ductwork installation including rectangular ductwork, round ductwork, fire dampers, smoke dampers, roof curbs, curb adapters, installing HVAC equipment, rooftop units, split systems, air handlers and condensate drains.Extensive knowledge of sheet metal installation and repairs and the process for making and repairing sheet metal duct systemsMust understand and be able to interpret product submittal dataMust be able to read and interpret MEP plansMust be able to understand and use a ductulatorMust have general knowledge of ductwork air flow and static pressureMust be able to draw and lay-out sheet metal ductworkMust understand or and be able to reference duct SMACNA duct construction standardsGeneral knowledge of applicable codes and practicesKnowledge of local code and standardsPhysical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).Material Handling: lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting to 115 lbs. frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing the position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).Required Education: High School Graduate or equivalent, work experience.Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.Must successfully pass a background check & drug test. Work Environment: Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places.
