About the role
The role involves becoming part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pickup truck & rugged SUV marketplace. Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for sheet metal design and release of Pickup Box stampings and assemblies for new products, ensuring innovative and optimized solutions.
- Manage the design of parts to meet cost, weight, and vehicle performance targets at all design milestones.
- Conduct analysis of sections, components, and sub-systems to drive the design of parts.
- Develop CAD to support design alternative studies and production development of parts.
- Support the development prototypes for virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
- Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
- Contribute to the design of production facilities for body systems of the Scout trucks & SUVs.
- Manage resources efficiently including supplier partners.
- Be a key member within the body structures team and liaison with all Scout functions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in Pickup Box structures, including all three phases of product development (design, test and launch).
- Skilled in utilizing CATIA for designing and developing detailed parts.
- Strong technical skills and expertise in sheet metal design, coupled with a 1st principles approach to problem solving.
- Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
- Strong communication skills.
- An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels.
Qualifications

Pay
- Initial Base Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
Schedule
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
