Sewer Specialist / Heavy Equipment Operator

About the Role

Expert Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical is seeking a full-time Sewer Specialist / Heavy Equipment Operator to perform excavation duties to the highest level of safety, quality, and efficiency in Orem, UT.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with team to gather needed information regarding jobs and fill out proper paperwork including all 811 (Bluestakes) before work begins
• Communicate effectively with customers, subcontractors, city inspectors, managers, and co-workers, relaying accurate information
• Perform drain cleaning through reinstatement equipment and hydro jetters
• Remove cleanouts, pull and reseal/reset toilets, follow proper ladder safety, and roof safety for inspections or cleanings
• Use sewer camera and location equipment to inspect equipment and locate sewer and water lines
• Perform manual excavation with a shovel and use excavation equipment including skid steers and mini excavators
• Maintain a safe environment with understanding of trench safety equipment including shoring, trench boxes, and work in trenches
• Make proper connections using correct fittings for sewer and water pipe; correct bad sewer and water lines
• Continue to learn and improve technical skill in Sewer Repair and Lining
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times to comply with all safety procedures and protocols
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and inventory levels are properly maintained at the end of the day

Qualifications

• Competent Person Training
• At least 1 year of mini-excavator and skid steer experience
• Able to pass a background check and drug test
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Understanding of pipe laying and bedding
• Sewer Liner knowledge a plus, but not required
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Good communication skills
